Laut dem Androinica Blog soll ein Support Mitarbeiter des Österreichische Mobilfunk Providers A1 einem Kunden (und Andronica Blog Leser) das Update seines HTC Magic auf Android 2.1 versprochen haben. Bis April soll ein Update auf Android 2.0 veröffentlicht werden und im Anschluss das Update auf Android 2.1 folgen.

OK, I just got off the phone with the tech support people from my carrier (A1). They told me that it is GUARANTEED that the HTC Magic will be getting 2.0 and it will be pushed over the air to users on their network between March and April. Android 2.1 is ALSO guaranteed to be coming to the Magic on their network, but they do not have a fix date on that release – yet.

Demnach soll das Update “Over The Air” kommen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, das erst ein Update auf Android 2.0 kommen soll und anschließend auf 2.1. Wieso nicht gleich der Versionssprung wie bei allen anderen Geräten (z.B. HTC Hero)?
